Meet the Founder

Meet Dr. Shrylin Davis, EdD, CSW, an accomplished first-generation college graduate with an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Delgado Community College, and both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans. She also holds a Doctorate in Education from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. With over fifteen years of experience in Higher Education, Dr. Davis currently serves as the Director of three TRIO Programs at Southern University at New Orleans, including one Math & Science Upward Bound and two Educational Opportunity Centers.

Dr. Davis is a highly engaged member of the state and regional TRIO organizations, having held leadership roles such as president-elect, president, and past-president of the Louisiana Association of Student Assistance Programs (LASAP). She is currently the SWASAP Secretary and LASAP Finance Chair, and an active member of the Council for Opportunity in Education. In addition to her impressive professional accomplishments, Dr. Davis is the founder of JSD Services, LLC and a non-profit organization called NeauxLArise.

As a first-generation college graduate herself, Dr. Davis understands the importance of advocating for low-income and potentially first-generation college students.
